I didn’t get to see her ring (despite looking at her for nearly an hour in the scope) but I am certain this is P9, here at the hospital this evening. I had not seen her since Monday last week. I suspected she’d gone on her travels, I guess they brought her back home. As I was walking towards the hospital this evening I noticed a bird on one of the HF aerials and immediately suspected it might be her as this was one of her favourite spots and her brothers didn’t really use them. I barely had time to set up the scope and have a quick look when another juvenile appeared and they both disappeared on the other side. That quick look told me it was likely to be P9 though. They reappeared a while later and flew low over the cemetery then played a bit at the other end before flying out of view. It was a bit distant but 1 bird looked bigger than the other. Quite a long while later a bird reappeared on the aerial. I still didn’t manage to read the ring but the facial markings were P9’s. The girl was back ! 😊 For how long...? ... See MoreSee Less

Flame spent a lot of time today on or around the nest ledge. Does she feel it's safe to come back now that the youngsters are less present? I last saw P9 for sure a week ago, maybe the next day, but not at all since so I suspect she's left. I have seen RA and RB since but not both for a few days. Unfortunately they are not always easy to tell apart so I can't tell if they're both still around or if there is just one. I have seen one both today and yesterday but I can't tell which and if it was the same one. ... See MoreSee Less

P9 and one of her brothers this evening. All 3 are still around and making their presence known to all and sundry ;) I've lost count of the number of times I'm told 'Aren't the Peregrines very noisy?' ;) The other brother only did flybys this evening and a display with his brother hence the lack of photo for him. ... I was up at Charing Cross Hospital this morning for my 6 monthly appointment and built in an extra half hour to try and get a glimpse of the juveniles.

I thought I was going to be unlucky, but then the three of them came screeching overhead, and gave us an impressive aerial display before landing on the hospital.

Dead chuffed:)

Getting soaked in the rain this morning reminded me how much Charlie liked a shower and how she ended up looking like a drowned rat ;)
Thank you every one for the very kind words, sorry I didn't reply to all of them individually, it got quite overwhelming, she did touch a lot of people :)
Hopefully some of the new generation this year will do too... All 3 were around at the hospital this evening and did chase each other very noisily. No better tribute to what Charlie started...
